Purpose

My Portraits

The faces we pass, the people we meet, and our own reflection in the mirror all portray a distinct version of a specific identity. Society forces us to change and evolve into the beings that we desire and strive to become, but what does this mean on an individualized basis? Our own identities are a looking glass that examines our deepest, most personal qualities. Are we proud of our identities, or do we still have room to grow? This body of work entitled Reflections is a collage-focused collection in which the viewer is invited to utilize the pieces as a personal mirror. Each individual piece is intended to evoke emotion with specific viewers on a personal level, which only they can relate to and understand. The variety of emotions within the piece is intentional, for I want to recognize the diversity and complexity of identities. The androgyny of some faces is also intentional in an attempt to challenge the gender binary of which emotions are socially-assigned. Promiscuity, vulnerability, and openness are prominent themes in this show that are highlighted within the pieces. The canvases are deconstructed from their original forms to compliment the organic stains and forms created in each piece. The subjects within each piece are then liberated from the lack of structure each frame originally assumed. The purpose of the collage is to portray how we wear masks of identity within a sea of others, sometimes being recognized and other times blurring into the background.

My Designs

I genuinely enjoy creating commissioned logos, branding decks, and custom designs for individuals and businesses—it’s a passion that naturally grew out of my full-time work in the arts marketing world. Working in that space has given me a deep understanding of how visual identity can tell a compelling story and connect with audiences on a meaningful level. I love collaborating with clients to bring their visions to life, and I approach each project with the same creativity and strategic thinking that I apply in my professional role. It’s fulfilling to use my skills to help others shape their brand and stand out with thoughtful, intentional design.

My Earrings

As an art student, I was looking for a creative and fun method to make money while in school. I decided to experiment with polymer clay after seeing a photo on Pinterest that I enjoyed, and the rest was history! I have sold more than 200 pairs over the years, as I experiment with different styles and colors of clay. I was asked to sell at a local farmer's market, and since then I have been able to build a successful side-hustle. Please enjoy my variety of styles!
